hat trick

Finished Cherry’s hat, started on Scout’s. Cherry’s hat seems a little large (due to the bulk of the yarn) and I’m a bit worried that it’ll be too big. I hope not. I hope Scout likes hers when it’s done…

slightly more productive

Yesterday I started working on Cherry’s hat. I’d started on it during my last trip to Louisville but didn’t even get the brim done. Last night I finished the brim and then took the crown up through the first decrease, so it’s about 1/3 done. These go pretty fast so I expect I’ll probably finish it tonight. After that I have one that I promised to do for Jason and Angela’s daughter Scout. I’m trying to decide whether to do it full size or try to “cut” the pattern down since she’s a four year old. Not sure.

After I’m done with that I’ll go back to the prayer shawl I was working on. I’d also like to make a hat for Chibi but I’d need to buy yarn for that.

At some point I want to get some circular needles and try this shrug pattern I found. You basically knit two “funnels” of yarn and then sew them together, forming the back. The tapering parts are the sleeves. It’s pretty easy but I’ve been resisting doing circular knitting up till now, so I’m a little nervous. Anyway, I think it’s a neat pattern and I’d like to try it.

xmas non-productivity

Well, I had all these grandiose plans involving baking (four pies) and knitting (wristlets, hats, finishing my latest shawl), but I didn’t really do much at all. I did make two pairs of wristlets: one shorter pair, made out of Trendsetter Natasha yarn, and then my normal length made out of superfine alpaca in black and red. I do still have plans for the pies as the week wears on. But I don’t feel very creative at the moment.

publishing

Well, I just self-published my first book on Lulu. It’s called Becoming His, and it contains four short bdsm-themed erotic stories, available for download or printing.

I know that it’s pretty short at 16 pages, but I wanted to put something out there; obviously I’ll keep writing. I’m pretty happy with these stories, so I hope they’ll do well.

going slowly

My current prayer shawl is only about 1/3 done because I’ve just been so busy. Dunno when I’m going to finish it but I’m hoping it’ll be over the holidays.
